Oil on canvas
Carnations were used in Victorian times to signify admiration and sometimes rejection depending on the color. Perhaps this painting is about mixed feelings? Carnations are the birth flower for January and also symbolize hope and rebirth. This painting started out with the intention of realism but soon took on a life of it’s own in impressionism. The painting is signed by me on the bottom and is unframed. The last photo is for example only and not to scale.
